The brief %, was to communicate a series of percentages to the first year graphic design students displaying what a design is actually made up of. This led me to think of bringing parts together to make a final product.

Initially 3 ideas were presented to the group, i chose the above as i wanted to work with the idea of bringing components together to create a final product. The first involved an experiment possibly making a video of various substances being mixed together to make an explosion. The second was using car parts coming together to make an actual moving vehicle and the third involved the world growing from a seed, adding water and the sun to create the world.

I decided to work with the idea of bringing car components together, i wanted to choose something more suitable to design but i thought a model car could get people engaged with the actual building of the model whilst taking in the information provided.

I bought a model car kit and scanned the components and instructions, i made the actual model using the tools provided.

Using the information scanned i made up a poster as if it was the instructions from a car model kit, combining the percentage information given by the brief.

I displayed the poster with the model car with the tools attached to the poster so the model could be taken apart and reconstructed.
